How payments work
PrepCntr is software for prep centers. When your customers pay you, the money goes directly to your Stripe account — not ours.
You connect your own Stripe account
When you set up billing in PrepCntr, you connect a Stripe account you control through Stripe Connect Standard. Stripe handles your identity verification (KYC), bank-account linking, and compliance with the payment regulations that apply to your business. Your Stripe account is owned by you and managed in the Stripe Dashboard.
Payments are processed on your Stripe account
When a customer of yours pays an invoice through PrepCntr, Stripe creates the charge directly on your Stripe account using its direct charges model. Funds settle to your Stripe balance and Stripe pays them out to your bank account on the payout schedule you control.
At no point does the customer's payment flow through a PrepCntr bank account, a PrepCntr-controlled balance, or any other account in our name. We do not hold, route, or otherwise custody your customers' funds.
PrepCntr's only fund flow is an application fee
On each successful charge, Stripe routes a small application fee from the transaction to PrepCntr's Stripe account. That application fee is the only money that ever flows to PrepCntr from a customer transaction. The remainder is yours.
The current application-fee rate is shown in your billing settings. PrepCntr also charges a separate SaaS subscription for use of the software itself.
What this means for you
PrepCntr is not a marketplace, payment processor, or money transmitter. We provide software that helps you run your prep center. Stripe processes the payments.
Because the payments live on your Stripe account, you are responsible for:
- Maintaining your Stripe account in good standing
- Issuing refunds to your customers
- Responding to chargebacks and disputes
- Collecting and remitting any applicable taxes
- Complying with the laws and regulations applicable to your business
- Managing your payout schedule and bank account in Stripe
See our Terms of Service for the full statement of merchant responsibilities.
